Design Review Board

Level 1: Minor alteration of an existing building/structure

7-B-15-DT

Replace all existing wood windows with new aluminum clad wood windows.

There are 16 wood double hung windows on the main and second story that are approximately 30 years. These are not custom fit windows so the frames are inconsistently sized, requiring additional trim to fill the space between the window and the original frame. The new windows will be custom fit Marvin Ultimate Insert Windows constructed of wood with extruded aluminum cladding, and will fill the entire original window opening allowing for the fill trim to be removed. The new windows will be one-over-one and match the historic wood appearance with a wide bottom rail on the bottom sash, and the rail and stiles are detailed with exterior horizontal seams. Colors will be selected to be the nearest to the existing colors.

The three fixed sash basement windows will be Marvin Ultimate Insert Windows with simulated divided lights (3) with spacer bars.
